Labour Youth to Protest outside FF HQ over Shell to Sea Scandal

Recent protest outside Shell HQ in Dublin. Members of Labour Youth were amongst those who occupied the foyer

Labour Youth is to demonstrate outside Fianna Fail headquarters this Friday (10 November) at 1pm in response to the Government's rejection of the new initiative from the Shell to Sea campaign to resolve the Corrib gas dispute.

Speaking ahead of the protest Labour Youth Chairperson Patrick Nulty said, "It is abundantly clear that this government has no interest in finding a constructive solution to the Corrib gas dispute.

"One must conclude that their commitment to maintaining Shell's future profit margins is far greater than their commitment to the safety of the people of Mayo.

"This action by Labour Youth comes in the wake of a strong show of support and solidarity with the local community in Rossport from a delegation of Labour Party TDs who visited the area earlier this week.

"It will also coincide with a national day of action called by the Shell to Sea group."
